Cathie Associates’ geospatial team has a wide range of experience in different applications of spatial data as well as the management of large projects involving multiple terabytes-worth of data.

2D and 3D GIS-based models are used in the majority of our renewable projects, requiring the ability for site interrogation, understanding spatial relationships of parameters, and spatial decision analysis for development layout and design. The use of GIS’ ability to calculate spatial statistics also gives engineers additional information on the numerical validity of site coverage, helping to inform the Site Investigation plans, the spatial understanding of risk and also the design of subsea infrastructure such as foundation systems and flowlines. In addition to model delivery, Cathie Associates also offer a remote access option whereby key layers are available to staff onsite using bespoke mobile apps for both Android and iOS tablets and smartphones.

We have particular experience in the integration of GIS with other software packages including AutoCAD 3D, Kingdom, DELPH and gINT, which is key for consolidating data into one site model, and expertise in programming within the GIS environment to enable the creation of bespoke queries allowing interrogation with the intent to aid engineering decisions.
