OPILE will calculate PY curves according to a variety of methods:
- DUNNAVANT & O’NEILL
- REESE (STIFF CLAY)
- STEVENS & AUDIBERT
- CUSTOM METHODS
Once the PY curves have been calculated lateral pile analysis can be carried out and lateral load-displacement response of the pile can be determined. The pile can be loaded at any grid point along its length and therefore OPILE can be used to solve a variety of problems. The help file website for OPILE contains much more information on how each of these methods has been implemented and, in addition, you can download the demo version of OPILE here. If you use a method which is not currently included in OPILE then we would be happy to discuss its inclusion in future versions. OPILE can also be used to produce pile models for input to structural analyses, such as the example Sacs input file.
