ENGINEERING SOFTWARE
Cathie Associates uses industry standard 3rd party software whenever possible but we also write our own software for specific applications.
-
PLAXIS 2D is used as our basic geotechnical analysis package for 2D problems
-
FLAC3D is used for 3D geotechnical analysis and when specific material behaviour is required since this can be easily programmed in the FISH language incorporated with FLAC.
-
ABAQUS is being introduced as our general purpose finite element code for both geotechnical and structural projects.
-
GRLWEAP for pile driving simulation
-
CAPWAP for back analysis of pile driving monitoring data to determine shaft and tip resistance and dynamic pile capacity
-
gINT for borehole log preparation and presentation
In-house software includes:
-
CAISSON – a design tool for sizing caisson foundations in clay using a simplified limiting equilibrium method to facilitate rapid parametric studies and dimensioning.
-
VHM – a tool to determine the dimensions of a rectangular surface foundation on clay subject to generalised vertical, horizontal and moment loading.
-
PILE DEVIATION – a tool for assessing deviation of bent conductor piles during driving
-
OPILE – for the analysis of single piles (capacity, SRD, axial and lateral response analysis)
